As a person who courght up with the manga 2 days ago I am the only one who liked the arc.
I loved it for the very necessary character development of Yukiya working through all the things that are holding him back from confessing to Miku. I kinda even wanted him to lose and still confess.

god damn, 8 double spreads?!
Is that why it's monthly? ww

love the no-look, no-practice perfect baton pass

(also can't tell if it's the font, but there're a lot of crossbar 'i's)

Well, this arc finally almost over (?) Actually, this is good, but it kinda dragging too long. I understand maybe author want to show Yukiya's character development in this arc. But it feels kinda too long. But it is what it is, I'm still enjoy it. And I hope Yukiya confess to Miku after sports festival over, or after this race.

Plenty of mangas suffer from this. Reading the chapters back to back is awesome and very rewarding since you don't have the long downtime between them. Dress up Darling spend like half a year on figuring out which black fabric to pick for a cos. Therefore the "dragging" sentiment.
When binge reading you can just instinctively skip all the boring parts and unnecessary panels and text bubbles, and concentrate on the good stuff. That doesn't mean the bad parts stop being bad, they're just much easier to ignore, making the experience better, even though the quality of manga stays the same.

as a person who kinda binge read it. No I dont just ignore the bad parts. But the "bad" parts most people are talking about is just bad because it has been going on so long. It wouldnt be concidered bad if it was weekly. People are just anoyed at the slow releasse scedule.

I disagree it wouldn't be considered bad, because it is. It wouldn't disliked to the same degree, but the pacing is simply awful anyway. And it's not just pacing, the whole thing is just more repetitive and boring.

Running, the sport where you magically speed up if you feel like it.

Ok, yes, you often need to mentally commit to giving 100% effort. However, if they’re in an all out sprint, mid sprint is a bit late to decide you give a shit. If bro is thinking all that, he’s not locked in, and he’s slowing way down. No way in hell do you have time in a 100m dash to deliberate on and decide that oh yeah, I do want to crash a romcom I have no business in.

Point being, way closer than it should’ve been

"Man, I probably chose a horrible time to start and get caught up with this series, huh? I'm probably gonna get to the most recent chapter and have it end on a cliffhanger."
Reads comments of the past several chapters
Ok, maybe I choose a pretty good time, because I've been able to just fly through this whole arc and not have to wait for each release like everyone else. I've enjoyed it because of that. I can understand why everyone else would be frustrated.

can we just go back to when the childhood friends started kissing intensely from the pocky game?
it was all downhill after the pocky game... mangaka suddenly lost his balls or something

I kinda don't like this arc, the outcome is obvious but it drags on for too long. Glad that it's over...... Or is it? 🤔🤔🤔
Gotta agree with you. Author made too many high notes but didn't give them proper resolves, it is becoming predictable and tiresome. Not to mention the limited time dating was the most climatic they can get emotionally, drop it and go for sport festival cliche kinda kill the vibe. dating arc was Yukiya step into Miku world, his resolve shoulda been set there. Sport festival scene was detached from both of them made this whole setting feel forced from a writing perspective. The supposed antagonist was not well portraited enough either. Whether Yukiya or Miku, at least one of them need to settle this now or this will be an overly stretched mess
