The premise is good and I can see what they are going for with this manga, but my main problem with this manga comes from the male lead and his character as a whole. He has been talking about changing himself and improving as a person for over 50 chapters for over 3 years now from its initial release in 2021, but so far all he has done is say things along the line of “im not good enough, she is too good for me, i need to improve myself to stand by her side.” and while there is nothing inherently wrong with that statement, when all he is doing is self deprecating himself and not actually doing anything that will have a lasting impact on him and his image of himself and for those around him, you are just making excuses for your own cowardice. And those corny lines and actions he does when they do the love game doesn’t count as “bettering himself”. Even in the latest chapter with the relay race he is pinning everything on whether he wins or loses against the random dude he feels inferior to. Maybe actually start talking to people and try to improve yourself instead of only trying to feed your ego or change your exterior style?

What's happening with the release? It's been so long I don't remember the last time a chapter came out

It seems we have major development in Chapter 60 (coming in 6 or so days from today).

You are not gonna find them on Mangadex.

Quite liked it so far, but I find it quite funny people who are saying "dropped it in the first chapters, checked out 23-24 and it did nothing for me". Like, of course it wouldn't? If you skip the entire rollercoaster until then you miss the emotional weight needed to get the development that happens there means.
When I picked this up I also felt "oh, another Kaguya-sama clone, huh?" but the dynamic is quite different and it feels a lot more grounded, which really adds to the charm of the series.

The sports festival was a bit dragged out, though. But maybe it was needed, to show all the steps Yukiya had to take to prove to himself that he could "change" and have some tangible proof of it such as reaching out to the group, training every day and standing his ground with the rival. It felt like a huge missed opportunity not to have him sing the rap at the dance though? It really feels like the author planted some plot threads and cast them aside to have 10 chapters of mental preparation for the run.

Let's see how it pans out post ch 60 now, I feel like the author didn't quite know how to portray the new situation in the classroom and that's why it jumped off to the end of the semester, probably gonna end in a few chapters early next year, at a summer festival or end of summer break.
