I will never understand this line of thought. Criticism isn’t about demanding the author cater to preferences—it’s about sharing perspectives, as art invites interpretation. Dismissing critiques as “just wanting a different rom-com” oversimplifies the point. Acknowledging that the story stalls but dismissing others for pointing it out is contradictory. It’s more productive to engage with the critique itself than to assume intent.
