Someone on the translator's discord said the card that was dropped was from the clinic where Shizuku had this magical surgery that didn't give her any scars and allowed her to walk around and make out with Takt with zero problems. The consensus is that Riku will use this card to show up to the clinic soon (perhaps right after Takt ran away so he can conveniently run into a naked Shizuku and despair some more).

But yeah, let's talk about this surgery she just had. She mentions Takt and her mother are making it more serious than it is but she also had to be put under for it. I swear to God if the author says it was something bullshit like a root canal I'm going to lose it.

This one person on the discord can read Spanish so they are usually far ahead of the curve on everything and they are the one that thinks Shizuku and her mom have mental illnesses which I don't buy. They also said based on the translation from the past few chapters, including the recently released 66, it's apparent that Takt is 100% gay and in love with Riku, has always hated Shizuku and apparently asked her out to prevent her from dating Riku.

Honestly, I think the Takt being gay is sloppy writing. I mentioned on the discord that based on what we see in ch 66, I wonder if it's less Takt is gay and it's more that Riku is the first person in his life that seems to care for Takt so Takt has latched onto Riku as a lifeline of sorts. He loves Riku but not romantically. He's possessive of Riku which is why he swoops in and steals any girl that shows interest in Riku so that Takt becomes Riku's only outlet. The reason he's crying in this chapter is that he knows Shizuku loves Riku romantically and he knows Riku feels the same and he feels bad about what he's doing because he knows it'll hurt Riku.

Also, typing the Spanish into Google, I was able to ascertain that in Chapter 66 Takt is shown at 8 years old and it's mentioned that he's the youngest of three brothers and he's regularly beaten and locked up in a dark room for reasons that haven't been revealed yet (and could very well be because he's gay). He finally has enough and runs away and that's when he meets Riku for the first time. Riku is the first person in Takt's life that shows him any sort of kindness. It's easy to say that what Takt feels for him is romantic love but I saw it more as holding onto the one thing that was good in your life. It's more obsessive/possessive than romantic.
I swear this entire manga is just the author's attempt at ripping off the NTR hentai story "Bug", whose plot is almost 1 to 1 what you just described.

Disclaimer that this is NTR hentai.

Ok, I sat here and really tried to come up with something that makes at least a little sense. I've tried to split it up into multiple easy to read paragraphs because I'm long-winded. Here's my theory as to what's going on.

Shizuku has some sort of heart problem and probably needs a heart transplant. Only she and her mother know about this. Even in a country with universal healthcare, the odds of her getting a heart and paying for the procedure are slim to none. Shizuku's mom approaches Takt's father the politician (or perhaps uses sources of her own) to find some wealthy benefactor that can help them out. In turn, Shizuku is promised to the benefactor as a wife/plaything/mistress/whatever. Shizuku and her mom are not happy about this but it's somewhat better than Shizuku dying.

It would be juicy if said benefactor is Takt's father and that Shizuku is promised to Takt's father or perhaps one of Takt's brothers. Shizuku and her mother decide not to say anything about Shizuku's health or any deal(s) made to Takt or Riku. Also, Takt would not be privy to this information even if his father is the one making the deal because as shown in chapter 66, Takt's family hates him for some reason (might stem from him potentially being gay but it's not specified yet).

Shizuku knows she's living on borrowed time. She has to transfer schools (perhaps just an excuse and she's really going to a hospital for the transplant and will then become someone else's property). She's been in love with Riku for a long time but neither she nor he has had the courage to really do anything about it. Enter Takt. For whatever reason (either Takt is gay and in love with Riku or he's just super possessive of Riku) Takt asks Shizuku to date him. The speculation is he wants her away from Riku (again for whatever reason) just like he originally dated Umimi for the same reason.

At this point in time, Shizuku is not aware of Takt's true feelings. She has limited time and wants the rest of what time she has left to be with her friends and full of happy feelings. I guess she assumes that if she rejects Takt here it might drive a wedge between the three of them and ruin the few months she has left. This is where she makes a deal with Takt. She mentions the deal in chapter 64 where she enjoyed the time the three of them spent together like real friends. While the deal isn't explicitly mentioned verbatim it appears that it's something like Takt must go no further than making out and the two of them need to act normal in front of Riku and act like everything is ok and they're all friends. The deal lasts from the moment they start dating to the moment Shizuku transfers out of their school. If Takt keeps his end of the bargain, then Shizuku promised him that for whatever time she has left she belongs to Takt.

We know she's a virgin as she told Riku that and in chapter 64 Takt asks her to continue "from where we left off that day" which I believe is referencing one of the early chapters where Shizuku is taking a bath and a hickey is visible on her neck. So it seems obvious that Shizuku and Takt were kissing/making out at the very least as Shizuku has had hickeys in the past and the relative ease with which she French kisses Takt in Chapter 64 and 65.

So, Shizuku's main goal now is to keep things friendly, keep her health and transfer a secret from both Riku and Takt and convince Riku to take her virginity so she can at least lose it to the man she loves. She doesn't want to tell Riku the truth as she feels it will hurt him less if she just disappears from his life rather than tell him she's having to sell herself to someone to save her life.

Riku consistently fails to take her up on her offer and time runs out so she's forced to honor her end of the deal with Takt. However, she's unable to keep her feelings to herself as Takt undresses her and mentions that she's in love with Riku which prompts Takt to be all "I've always known."

Here's where I'm a bit iffy as Takt seems more than willing to make out and have sex with Shizuku. If he's gay, is he forcing himself to be heterosexual to please his family? Is he bisexual instead of gay? Is he gay but he's doing it to corrupt Shizuku in the hopes that Riku won't want her anymore?

At one point in Chapter 65 Takt gets her fully naked and is reaching for her vagina while saying "Don't worry, I'll have you giving in right away---". That doesn't sound like something he'd say if he was gay but again maybe this is all a mask for him. I'm thinking it is a mask because right after Shizuku apologizes to him which causes him to yell "This isn't right!! Get mad at me! Say I'm awful!" Takt knows what he's doing isn't right. He's also started to or has been crying which is revealed shortly after. It's obvious he's somewhat conflicted and then we get into Shizuku mentioning she noticed he's been hurting for a long time and she thinks it's because he's always loved (Riku) but doesn't get to finish as Takt screams and runs away.

We're then given a scene of Shizuku naked and on the ground lamenting "I wonder where did I go wrong..." I dunno, lady, maybe when you decided to take all agency away from the guy you love and lie to everyone and make weird ass deals instead of telling the truth. But I don't blame the characters for the way the author chooses to write them.

It honestly seems to me that the "sick girl" plot and the "Jealous 4D chess Takt" plot are at odds with each other.

Almost as if like completely different stories are being jammed together messily.

Yeah, I wonder if the author fully planned everything out or maybe just parts. It seems like they threw a bunch of mysteries out in the hopes of keeping people interested and now that the plot is moving forward they've written themselves into a corner.

@Mangamoz @rezced @RakshaJaeger @HellJester, Chapter 67 is out in Bokugen.

Turns out Shizuku’s big secret is really just that she’s dying. The surgery she had only slightly improved her chances of survival.

So yeah, pretty lame and underwhelming. Even more so with how the author handled it—no hints for the readers at all until the reveal, which made it fall completely flat.

I’ll grab some comments from Japanese readers and post them soon.

yeah, we were right on the money when talking about that (and now the time skip joke I've made about everyone going to her grave will be canon). It's so lame. It's like the author has read/watched your lie in april to take inspiration without understand a thing.

Just waiting on jp reader

edit : so, Shizuru wanted to keep their friendship as long as possible within her time limit. Takt, without knowing she was ill at the time, decided to go out with her to keep her away of his riku one sided crush, knowing she'll never say no to avoid the break of their friendship.
But now, he know the truth about her health. Guilt is eating him for what he had done and we go back to where he has met Riku the first time.
Need to see jp comments

Well as expected, this is really shit. Turns out Takt wasn’t even blackmailing Shizuku since he didn’t know about her disease, so she herself choose to date him in order to « preserve » their friendship…. :haa: And then she went behind Takt’s back and did all that shit with Riku… for friendship ofc :haa:
Well now that the secret is out there’s not much left to do, I hope it ends it 2 or 3 more chapters

Chapter 67 is titled "All to Myself"

Here are some comments from the Japanese audience on the Sunday Webry app:

Iw0wt74.png

They dragged out Shizuku’s issue all the way to this point, and now it’s probably going to end up being a confirmed illness; that’s messed up.
:this:

fdIMT3d.png

• Shizuku’s issue:
→ Just a regular illness (operable)
• How it was revealed:
→ Casually, through Shizuku’s mother
• Why Takuto and Shizuku were dating:
→ Takuto was obsessed with keeping the trio of childhood friends together. He knew Shizuku wouldn’t be able to reject his confession. (Put bluntly, it was just him messing with Riku and Shizuku, who clearly liked each other.)
I was expecting this to be the answer to the big mystery we’d been waiting for, but there was no major twist or anything, so I’m just sitting here like… “Huh?”
:this:

Qg2rAnh.png

At this point, I’ll stick with it till the end, but seriously...
So it was just an illness after all? Absolutely zero twist, exactly what everyone expected lol. So damn lame.
:this:

Nm13NCU.png

The fact that Takt actually had no idea what Shizuku was dealing with is just way too funny.

iYB8EeV.png

Looks like a BL development is basically confirmed for the next chapter... this is painful.
I wanna see Riku flirting with the heroines, damn it!!

gpbHFRn.png

Wait, seriously?? After all this time stubbornly hiding Shizuku’s big secret, it turns out it was just an illness??
Readers who were out here imagining stuff like aliens, the yakuza, or her being sold off somewhere look like total idiots now!!
Nah, it’s the author and their editor who are looking like complete idiots now.

hjcwmOL.png

I thought the title “Aitsu no Kanojo” was from Riku’s point of view, but turns out it was from Takt’s perspective. “Aitsu” (Shizuku), and “kanojo” (Riku’s girlfriend)... huh.
:thonk:

ubJJ6aa.png

Honestly, I’m worried Shizuku just got left behind and is out there getting assaulted by some random nobody.

LRLYiTj.png

Okay, so we got that Shizuku is sick, but since it’s operable, even if she can’t go back to school, Riku and the others can just visit her at the hospital. Did they really drag this out all the way to episode 67 over something like this??
:this:

Dx9mQQn.png

After raising the stakes on Shizuku’s problem way too high, they end up going with an answer that’s way below the bar; and on top of that, casually reveal it through her parents’ mouth. Honestly, that’s just way too disappointing.
:this:

2nxZ43e.png

If these two end up together here and that’s the ending, it might be the worst but maybe good as a joke.
I feel uneasy about Takt who stole precious time, and Shizuku should have told Riku; it’s too cruel that he’s not even allowed to worry.
:thonk:

FycYAAY.png

At this point, it turns out that Takt didn’t know anything at all about Shizuku’s problem (her illness) and was just someone who complicated the relationship between the three childhood friends.

mRPcTD2.png

I saved up a bunch and just read it all at once, but the story was so thin I was like, “Is it over already?!”
At this point, everyone’s basically just coming here to read the comments every time.
:this:

PWCt2Vf.png

All the theories readers had—like “the yakuza or the underworld or night jobs are involved,” or “there’s something wrong with Takt’s family and Shizuku’s forced to date him,” or even “maybe Shizuku’s an alien”—make everyone look like fools with how it actually ended.
Nah, again, it's the author and their editor who are the ones looking like fools now.

fqlubdh.png

Why did they drag out such a minor secret like it was something huge?
:this:

5cswRiA.png

It was a bit of an anti-climax that Shizuku’s problem was just an illness, but what I’m most dissatisfied with is that the core of the story—Shizuku’s problem—was casually revealed by her mother.
:this:

reFs5E2.png

For now, I just want to imagine Shizuku, thrown out naked, being toyed with by some stranger she doesn’t know.
:slap:

Once again, I’m comforted by Yako on the title page.
Thank you.

What was that thing about maybe letting the manager have her body or whatever; does that mean it’s okay once her illness is cured...?
Oh right, there was that weird interaction between Shizuku and that sexual predator on the beach.

jN2qLxV.png

Riku, before you go help that selfish, mean guy who’s stuck in his own head in the hut, go save the heroine who’s been left naked and abandoned under the bridge.

Yeah, seems like everyone shares the same opinion about this crap. :dogkek:

Yeah, seems like everyone shares the same opinion about this crap. :dogkek:

and again, it prove that dragging out for long a "secret" will backfire at your face if the secret is so minor, so stupidly simple to say.

Takt : already said that this turd has chosen to mess up with Shizuku in order to keep Riku away from her and whatever friendship they had. Even in the dark about the illness of Shizuku, is asshole move. Now, come clean to Riku in 68

Shizuku : you keep this secret out of your CF. Man, if I was dying, I'll tell it to my best friends because we've been together for so long. I won't let them be miserable like that. Girl, you were about to leave without telling to Riku, the guy you love, everything about your situation (and this is why you mother left him her visit card, because yeah...)

Riku : truly, this guy has been bounced left and right (how he has been written doesn't help at all), left in the dark. Because of this selfish friend, everything was complicated. And now he'll face everything at once.

Yako : you were the sentimental relief of this group. I bet she'll be with Riku when Shizuku will pass away like (if she doesn't survive/try the operation) "live a happy life Riku" bs like that.

Umimi : let her rest :lul:
Oh right, there was that weird interaction between Shizuku and that sexual predator on the beach.
Oh yeah this. let's say, for me, it was an attempt to shock

The author and editor have done an epic fumble with that. These mofos
Everyone is so tired of this crap. please author, end it in 3 chapters and just focus on your anime. You must vow to never touch the drama genre again.
And first time I really wish that : I hope that nobody will made this mess into an anime:huh:

Here I was trying to come up with twists or something somewhat complicated because I thought the whole "she's dying of an illness" is too cliche.

I want to know the following in no particular order:

1) What exactly did Shizuku say to beach rapist manager to get him to back off? I know her whole "if it's after you can have sex with me" was just her saying whatever she could to get out of the immediate situation and was not sincere. I want to know what combination of words she strung together to get this rapist guy who had already tried to drug her and blackmail her by threatening one of her friends to back off. Did she just yap on and on about her illness and this convoluted situation to the point that he just stopped caring and wanted her to go away? Did she tl:dr him?!

2) We now know that Takt had no clue about Shizuku's illness and his whole plan to ask Shizuku out was to prevent her and Riku from dating as Takt felt he would be left behind in that situation. We know that Shizuku and Takt had an agreement which is Shizuku would agree to date Takt if the three of them could remain friends up until she changed schools. After that she'd allow Takt to do whatever he wanted with her body. Is Takt gay? Is he bisexual? Did he agree only because it furthered his goal to keep Shizuku and Riku away from each other? If he is gay why does he make out with her and sexually assault her? Furthermore, who came up with the "do whatever they want to Shizuku's body" caveat? If it was Takt, why would he care about that if he's gay? If it's Shizuku, why is she adding that to the deal? She could have just agreed to go out with Takt and refused sex saying she wanted to wait.

3) If Shizuku is going to die (20-30% survival rate according to her mother) and she doesn't want anyone to be sad, why the fuck does she continue to make the absolute worst decisions? If Takt and Riku are going to be sad no matter what then for God's sake just tell them the truth and be with Riku and have some form of small happiness. They're going to be sad eventually. Doing things this way just makes it even worse for Riku. If Shizuku loves Riku why does she feel the need to make things even worse for him?

I haven't read the author's other works so what I'm about to say is what I've heard from others in the translator's discord channel. Apparently, the author's other works tend to be ecchi and comedy and this is their first foray into drama and darker themes. If that's true, it would explain the not so great writing and the frankly bizarre decisions being made.

I hope this manga wraps up soon and the author focuses more on their other works, especially the one that has an anime out right now. If I was the author I'd want to distance myself from this one.

Or, they could just go full crazy. Shizuku's mom mentioned picking up Takt because there are bears in that area this time of year. Next chapter: naked Shizuku gets mauled by a bear.

On a serious note I want y'alls opinion on something.

So, in the translator's discord is another user who I believe can read Japanese because they always seem to have information before everyone else. I was talking about Chapter 67's Spanish translation and wondering about how Riku knew to go to the shack that he met Takt in back when they were 8.

This user mentioned it's Riku's family's shack and is on their property and it's obvious because you can apparently see it in long ago chapters. Did anyone else catch this?! I normally think I'm fairly observant but no way in hell am I taking a close, deep look at background architecture.

OK after reading all the spoilers and stuff my ideal ending for this shit-show is this:

Shizuku dies - cause she is to cringe/stupid for miracle save for her to be viable.

Takt - his gayness comes to light, all the stupidity with him, Shizuku, him dating Umimi and why comes to light and his relationship with MC crumbles cause of that - may as well either do sudoku or be closed in a cage cause his family hates him for his gayness or something - don't really care much about him.

Umimi - gets adopted by MC family, becomes MC step-sister and they are in a happy family type relationship - she slowly heals after what her mom and step-dad did to her. In variant where Yako doesn't end up with MC, she either still pursues him romantically, or outright ends up with him and the adoption part is optional.

Yako - either she becomes MC girlfriend and helps MC heal his damaged heart after all the stupid shit Shizuku/Takt pulled, or she doesn't date him and is happy with someone else or something, cause MC isn't really that "out of guilt" here either, cause he does behave like an dense idiot and nearly fucked 2 other girls with one going to blowjob/etc regions, so he isn't really as pure as she is in ours readers eyes ;).

MC - slowly heals after Shizuku death, and Takt death/disappearance, either is in relationship with Yako, or with Umimi - depending if Yako ends up with him or not.
