The series more generally is deliberately over-the-top. Some people will be amused; others appalled.
Eh, not so much more than any other shonen out there. Being melodramatic kinda comes with the territory.

Lol, Ibuki and Togeya really equipped themselves for a fight. That was the most intense game of Musical Chairs ever!
Well, Togeya let her feelings out of her system. And now she realized she really hurt Akabane. She doesn't want to be a burden to Akabane, so he confesses that she hasn't been a good friend at all. But Akabane tells her the meaning of the name she laughed at when they first met. Honeko means Support. She will support Togeya, along with all the people she meets! That makes Togeya realize what a good friend Akabane truly is!
The Red Team won, and now Shino can celebrate having won a school festival! Everything worked out in the end, even with Ibuki not being a part of it. And even then, Ibuki got to have a wonderful moment with Akabane alone! That school festival was definitely worth it.
