"the plain girl who's pretty when she takes off her glasses"
I hate that trope with a passion. Because it's dumb. Attractive girls in glasses are still attractive. They're just regular glasses, not those goofy gag ones with the big fake nose and mustache on them. And I'm not even talking about having a glasses fetish or something, it's just insane that the presence of a bit of plastic and glass on their face that obscures almost nothing to any significant degree is supposed to turn them from 'ugh, wouldn't.' to the most gorgeously stunning person you've ever seen in your life.
Glasses are really versatile
Also I don't have any weird thing for glasses either, but something about them is nice, there's just so many angles that you can go for with glasses girls, they can add a "wow they're looking right through me" kinda vibe to a character, or they can be used to show further weakness in a clumsy (or forgetful) girl, something like "I forgot my glasses again!" They also are really good for morals committee girls (or just any authority figure I guess) because it just goes so well with the prim and proper atmosphere they have, and you can have them adjust their glasses to show how they keep everything in order, or as a nervous tic to establish some gap moe. I really do hate it when glasses are seen as something that makes you uglier though, it's just so stupid especially since it's not like you can do anything about needing glasses. Imagine walking up to a man holding a cane and saying "wow you would be handsome but I really hate canes, so what if you need it in order to stand because your knee is injured? Just get rid of it lmao." So dumb.
