Never understood why the "nursing a sick person" event in romance manga always leads to horny. Having sex is literally the last thing on my mind whenever i'm sick, it just sounds super unpleasant and painful.

Hurt/comfort stories were some of the earliest most popular romances, and not just in Japan either. I'm pretty sire it's still a tag on many fanfiction sites. You can even find it all the time in American romantic comedies. It's simply a popular romance trope globally.

I don't just mean the concept of one character nursing their love interest when they're sick, it's obvious why that would be popular. I was referring specifically to when that scenario immediately leads into them having sex. Which just sounds super unpleasant to me.
