As someone that plays guitar and bass this really struck a chord (sorry, couldn't resist). Learning anything about music is really damn hard but listening to it is so easy, the expectation to be good and play well is hard to fight because you hardly ever hear people playing bad, you want to be like the ones you listen to. Being acknowledged for trying your best over sounding good is so fulfilling, having someone to cheer you on makes it feel like all the struggling was worth it and gives you the motivation to be even better. if you can be celebrated for still learning, imagine how good it will feel when you know it's good
