Depends where you live at ig 🤷 In our city, yeah the landlord is entitled to know if there is another tenant living in the unit. Like are you renting out your place with another? Is that a sketchy person? Or in this case taking in a minor.

Landlords should know that. They way tenants should know someone died in the apartment ☠️
