Horimiya was the same way, the actual plot was fully resolved in the first half or so of the manga, and the rest was just fluff. That's why every anime adaptation ends at the same point halfway through. I think that's just how HERO writes.I have always wondered how this story would end. All major "obstacles" had been solved since forever and it wandered, trying to make sense of Ako.
In a way, the latter part of the work is about giving humanity to a spirit, so I suppose it is fitting that the end would make a spirit out of a human.
I will really miss this series.
To be fair, the horimiya web series (that the manga is based on) has the slice of life stuff spread throughout the story, instead of just getting slapped onto the second half after the main relationship and conflict was resolved (which the manga did for some weird reason)Horimiya was the same way, the actual plot was fully resolved in the first half or so of the manga, and the rest was just fluff. That's why every anime adaptation ends at the same point halfway through. I think that's just how HERO writes.
Not criticizing, mind you, I enjoy the fluff continuations, but it does appear to be a pattern.
