And with that we reach the end! And not too long after the original release, haha...ha... Again, huge thanks to JHGamer for helping out getting the last volume or so finished. If you enjoyed this series then I highly, highly recommend purchasing some of the volumes officially, whether they be in your native language or the original Japanese release.

Not putting it in a TL Note, but this chapter's title 常世 can also be read like the Land of the Dead, 常世の国.

There are quite a few twitter extras and we may or may not work on some of them, no guarantees for now.

And a final word, if you ever want to get into typesetting, do not, under any circumstances, use CCWildWords as a font. It is an evil, short and wide font that despises trying to fit into tall vertical bubbles. Curse myself for wanting to keep fonts consistent throughout the series and continuing with that mistake...

I have always wondered how this story would end. All major "obstacles" had been solved since forever and it wandered, trying to make sense of Ako.
In a way, the latter part of the work is about giving humanity to a spirit, so I suppose it is fitting that the end would make a spirit out of a human.
I will really miss this series.

Honestly the ending felt a little flat to me. There was seemingly no real payoff other than "and then Bambi and Ako lived together for a long time until Bambi passed away." But perhaps that's the point. A guy finds out about a spirit who is actually a part of someone else, looks after her until she becomes a true "individual" and then has her become a part of his family until death. Something supernatural becomes mundane, ordinary life.

As always, thank you, thank you, thank you for the translations. It's finally come to an end, huh? It's bittersweet, but I loved it.

Also to all people who are thinking of buying the volumes, there's always an extra bonus chapter at the end!

i enjoyed the read but i feel like the ending didn't exactly hit it's mark, the timeskip feels a little janky to me and the last ~20 or so chapters were kinda fluff with invisible bandage that never had the need to get ripped off. i don't think this needed to be a tragic story but i feel like the setting often leaves it lingering in the background and for a very long time i assumed the chapters felt so calm as a build to something, but knowing that it's a timeskip with basically as happy of an ending possible without any major consequences for the last stretch actually leaves me feeling a bit unfulfilled

Consquences of what? What kind of manga did you think you were reading my guy? Did the first 90 chapters of hanging out in an apartment not clue you in on the tone so the last 10 came as a shock?

I will admit that the slow translation might have exacerbated any hiccups with the narrative and pacing and caused it to be harder to follow along. Reading a chapter or two every few months isn't going to flow as well as once a week.

I've always felt like the latter half of the series was about the characters figuring out what they wanted to do in life and how they were going to do it. For Ako and Bambi, we were being introduced to all of these new hurdles for how they would even build a life together. Not only were there issues with them having a relationship: chance that she could kill Bambi with contact, that she can't grow older with him and they wouldn't be able to hide that, and if keeping her separated from Yamashiro was the right thing to do; they also had to figure out their own individual goals in what they wanted their lives to be. Ako wanted to work and become as independent as she could as a way to enforce or stabilize her existence separate from Yamashiro and like you said "give humanity to a spirit."

My second favorite storyline for the latter half was with Azusa, always really liked her and her chapter where she had to deal with public criticism of her work was one of my favorites in the series.

there were a lot of story beats that felt to me like they were to remind us that ako is a ghost/spirit which would expectedly come with consequences, from bambi's own thoughts, to her being cold to the touch, to the psychic/spiritualist subplot, and the early bit involving ako's existence conflicting with yamashiro's emotions(although my memory is really hazy on this bit).

we had a lot of comfy chapters that still ended on pretty somber notes mainly because it was always clear that bambi was never truly able to cope with the fact that ako isn't human. i spent a long time just kind of expecting something, and being put up on guard when i was reminded of such. my assumption was that the comfy chapters were there to let us grow attached and comfortable, so that when the bandage gets ripped off we feel the same as either ako or bambi would feel

i think i can understand why ako had to be ghost and bambi had to be a human for their overlaps, but i struggle to understand why they would hone in on it so frequently with some characters including the main characters themselves even acknowledging that it'll probably never be perfect just for it to... end up pretty much perfect

I have a feeling that many of the interviewed(?) characters are relative or descendants to characters we knew like Hana, Gakuto, Rui, etc children and some were the kids Ako befriended before moving their home. But I just can't really confirm who were who...
