Dang it... he stayed bald :'( I knew it, he shouldn't have shaved his hair on the 1st chapter. He's advanced in age, and every strand of hair is just that precious.

You need a villain to hate, and Japanese game devs don't shy away from brutal topics if it's age appropriate.
Yeah, but in the context of the game, the heroine father is likely one of the "good guys", and yet he apparently has THAT as his backstory. Thats the fucked up part.

You often see, in these villainess stories, that the 'heroin' actually is quite the piece of work herself. To begin with, what's her deal with stealing a guy who is already engaged and then making the former fiancé's life misserable? Sure, she might have tried to play some tricks on the thieving bitch, but can you blame her?
The prince is no better, for that matter, getting stolen away, but then when he sees his ex=betrothed, he gets all hot under the colar? Sure, no way he had regrets or anything, right?
Who is to say what the context is in this story?

In any case, that backstory of human trafficking is pretty sickening, but... Well... It happens. Not just in fantasy world either. So maybe it's good that it gets brought to our attention?? I still HATE it though... It really does make me feel sick to my stomach.

It's framed as if it's turning the villain tropes on it's head, but at the end of the day they're just... charismatic and evil? Like actually evil, not play-evil as they're framed as.

Like she goes in there with modern societal knowledge and yet berates a kid for trying to stand up to the tyranny of feudalism. Really? And we're supposed to feel good about it because she then also gives him special treatment, while letting the rest of the world rot while she lives off everyone's taxes...?

Okay, yeah, this one is just not for me. I'm glad the rest of you all are enjoying it.
