ngl, I think I'm actually envious of the painter. People tend to get bored once they run out of things to do, but he never seemed to until the day he died.
He fell for a cursed muse he could never accurately paint, its the same of the femme fatale characters that seduce men into their demise.
Honestly I'm not surprised he ended the way he did, any man willing to cheat and runaway with the woman after she clean her ex out of all his money cant be a good person, which usually means their shady character and loose morals are bound to catch up to them at some point🤷🏽‍♀️

Ah, ex wife was a 304, got it.

That could have been forgiven, but then she got greedy and went after her son. Strike Two.

Unfortunately, thinking Celestine wasn’t the true threat in that household was the final strike. Celestine was going to ruin the painter just because, but her husband gave him a pass. Still didn’t completely save him when she hit him with that villainess Haki. Being the crimson flag simp he was, he was broken for life. The truest definition of diabolical out there.

Also Luka is still hilarious to me, even more so when he teams up with his big brother.

The synchronized yeeting of papa teddy bears. 😂

Interesting that the ex-wife still stayed with the painter even after he came poor. I guess she had no where else to go by then...

This is actually darker than the previous chapters lol

Stuck in an obsession he can't perfect without witnessing the real thing but also knowing he can't see her so easily turned himself into a prison and torture of his own passion

Artist guy: F for evil aesthetic. Considering his personality I think a look similar to that playwright would make sense: gaunt, 5 o clock shadow, overall unkempt and unwashed.

Ex-wife: C for evil aesthetic. Again, the makeup should be way more obvious. Maybe add some details around the eyes and mouth to indicate that she's a hot mess who's not as young as she used to be.

bro is absolutely ruined, in a way he and everyone never thought possible

may you perfect your drawings in afterlife (proven in story to exist)
Actually, that's a concerning point to make. We know in-universe Celestine reincarnated. Imagine the artist reincarnating in another world and continuing to be plagued by a muse he will never meet again. Like, he'll grow up with everyone around him wondering what is wrong with him as he is cursed by mental images of a blond-haired, blank(?)-faced woman he can never let go of (not sure if the final 200 pictures were supposed to be blank faced or not). The amount of anxiety and OCD he'll grow up with will put his parents into debt with the amount of counselling and meds he'll need, assuming he gets reincarnated into a more modern age where such help would be more likely lest he gets tossed into an asylum otherwise. I pity the poor fool. Dying and being reborn into a hell of his own obsession.

..Maybe there is no heaven or hell after all. Just reincarnating into a life that feels like one or the other depending on your karma, with the new life neither intentionally being a heaven nor a hell. Kinda of like "one man's heaven is another man's hell" sort of thing. :thonk:

What is worse than getting your lover stolen... having them just infatuated by someone that doesn´t even care about them

What is better than just deal with your enemies... making them erode themselves completely
That's why I love this manga. Somehow I think that there are maybe real historical artist that really devoted on one theme till his death

Man, I kinda feel bad for the painter. He was born with a thing for the crazies.
Honestly, not really. I believe (my opinion) that he was happy to have found such a perfect subject to dedicate his life to. Because for a lot of artists, finding purpose is often times more important then their life itself.
