It's mostly the noses the illustrator is using. Not that there is much difference in the eyes either, but all those acutely pointed noses makes all the faces look the same and avant-garde.

"A noble's entire salary" doesn't really mean much. A ruling noble is basically running a business, with the business being his/her fief and all the methods to make money out of it. There are also landless nobles relying on a stipend from the government or other significant source, in exchange for doing work, possibly as nobles of the robe if the job was important. Some minor nobles were so poor they might not have been able to afford any servants. This was especially the case when the merchant class got more and more prosperous and powerful. This also resulted in merchants exploiting destitute nobles by being able to marry into the old nobility, by taking care of the debts the noble family had accumulated.

Of course this series is a work of fiction, so perhaps every single noble makes big money.

I actually really like the story so far. Despite how generic the general plot is, i do enjoy the characters are talking like normal people (more less) and the MC is actually kinda refreshing, instead of worrying about changing the story like other stories, he just kinda assumes that he's gonna die anyway and fights like an adrenaline junky.
Tho the sudden dip in the art quality is concerning, especially when the author and artist of this manga is also doing another one that i follow.

The black haired guy in the first page of Chapter 1 with the intenationally sketchy look should be Julius. Just like some other characters here, don't expect him to be like what the other original MCs of other isekai villain stories are like.
