This comment is exceptionally ignorant. I live in the United states, my spouse has a rare form of cancer, and we both have Healthcare through socialized medicine; the state and federal government provide our insurance.

My spouse is currently undergoing treatments that are in Phase I and II trials that no European country covers through their mandated health insurance; im told this treatment is denied as it is very expensive ($250,000 or € 125,000 per cycle/4 months) and is therefore not cost-effective.
We absolutely looked everywhere for the best possible treatments, and they are available here in the United States with basic state offered health insurance that is free to everyone.

By contrast, Canada and Denmark have the same treatment for my spouse's cancer:
A chance to fill out their Last Will, and a prescription for morphine.

So.
How about you take your ignorance and go pretend that the metric system ever made it to the Moon somewhere in a corner?

That cardinal should be careful. All but the most rudimentary religions (that worship some dude as a deity) aren't about any particular individuals, they are about the belief in something higher, ideologies, rules, communities, ceremonies, and other such immaterial things, of course also some material things like places of worship, but those are of secondary importance. Even if it's a pope, if the pope happens to die, a new one will simply be elected. All the leadership could die and they would just be reselected. That's the strength of it. However, for anyone corrupt seeking personal power and wealth, it's a weakness in the system. Nobody will really miss them. Even if they try to use the religion for their own purposes (as long as it's a real, big religion, not a cult they founded themselves), the members/believers will only want the religion to continue, they don't truly care about an individual priest, aside from a personal connection one might have with any person, like a familiar shopkeeper.

In short, Absolute could remove a single rotten cardinal, but everything would continue the same as ever for the church. There would be no huge outrage that would force Absolute to abandon the idea. The saintess would be a bit bigger deal, but we already saw what happened with the hero's case.
