Did you not pay attention to the flashback that literally happened in this chapter? I'm not making up a random secession story line in my own head cannon it was literally just mentioned. The engagement also hasn't been talked about since it was brought up the 1 time so maybe it didn't go through, that's why I said if.

Or are you actually straight up asking me? In that case you would have to ask the MC, chances are he doesn't know about the potential engagement yet considering, as I said, it hasn't come up again.
