Ah yes that's a plot twist, I wondering why she consumed so much chapter space and she's got that Yuri going on too I suppose, brilliant

Oh? Finally giving into the Yuri

Have a good day

I hope she stays that way at least towards the humans. I like how she is and I want a series with a true villainess MC.
Indeed. Far too many of these Villainess stories (or just royalty/historical/fantasy type) has to be Isakai or Reincarnation to make the MC a decent guy/gal who is really nice. So seeing one actually doesn’t take these tropes is truly a breath of fresh air.

And as a series thus far it's also unusually low fantasy. The most magical thing established so far is that Wolf tribe can (allegedly) transform into canine forms.

The wolf tribe differences are more cultural than fantastical in that way. Really serves the conflicts going on imo.

True. Also the reason I like this story. The world and timeline is unusually condensed for a story of this kind. It’s not about fighting monsters or making a journey to complete a quest. It just took place in the kingdom (seemingly a small kingdom) and the woods. There’s no world-building beyond the two MC‘s personal history, and there aren’t any notable impact of the “world” or “environment” with the main protagonists and antagonists, or even the side characters beyond the freezing snow and fanatic cultists. Not to mention the manga hasn’t shown anything beyond the main story line. Usually these stories have the character do some side quests showcase the characters’ personalities, do a bit of extra world-building, or give more subtle developments to their relationships and show more answers to keep us satisfied.

So basically I just like how it’s going. Very curious about how they’ll manage to keep the storyline together while keeping the vibes fresh.

I have a feeling this is going to have a bad end. Dark and depressing for most involved. :aquadrink: :fml: :worry:

Yeah. Though it is established that the country they live in is very large. I think it serves to highlight the "indifference" that the capital has towards communities outside it. That knowledge of what's in their boundaries is very heresay.

I'm having a hard time consolidating information from this chapter. Eve's investigation and Karina's "maidservant" sort of implies that Karina's reputation in the court is at best exaggerated, at worst fabricated. But back on the first chapter, it was portrayed that Karina actually did all sorts of unsavory things using her position as crown fiancee.

Are we in a multiple unreliable narrators situation?

Have to say, after quickly going back and looking at the first chapter, it just seems like everyone, except the wolves, are complete a holes. Mc included, and as this goes on she just seems more and more to be just manipulative, vindictiveand and egotistical.
I think Reshutoka is way more aware and manipulative than she lets on. She is definitely not a golden retriever. There were some scenes with her that could support the theory that she orchestrated their meeting to play her own fairytale, starting with the fact that she obviously was not starving there in her baby wolf form, since she was at full strength, ready to take on a bunch of assassins and carry a girl to a faraway village shortly after. The quakes that lured Karina out of the castle were likely avalanches caused by her. There are also those scenes with her in chapters 2 and 3 where the beast peeks out.

The entire story is way darker than your average villainess yuri manga - it feels like everyone is manipulating and using everybody else for their own aims. The only "pure" people (seemingly) we've seen are Eve and Juno, and they will end up right in the middle of this entire clasterfu*k. The fact that every bit of information we are getting is subjective/presented by an unreliable narrator really helps with creating a story where all kinds of possibilities exist and almost nothing is "known". I guess they will use the good archivist, searching for truth, to present what actually happened. Or maybe her love for fairy tales will also end up skewing the narrative she will end up presenting. I wonder how her being a wolfman who left the village will end up playing into it - was leaving just voluntary and not a big deal, or is there something more behind it?

For now, I'm hooked by all the ambiguity.
