fafsjdkkl for some reason i know candy candy, but that's because they dubbed that to spanish and aired it on tv when i was a child... i'm not THAT old but that made me feel ancient akljdfskds (never heard about the other series tho! i also watched heidi, but if u asked me, i don't remember the plot of either of them, except they were dramatic as hell. i was a small child so that's not surprising)

thank you very much for the update~

Ayumi is a wonderful rival and character, she was the first person that makes me realize I can like the MC's opponent too. Our ojiisan has amazing taste!

Hot take: Ayumi is better than Maya anyway...unless you ship them. And even then, nobody comes close to the legendary Tsukikage-sensei.

I'm not that old but dang hearing Candy candy is certainly making me feeling ancient

Also, I just realized that "the drills" has been the staples for villainess since the 70

What's weird is that most actual otome games very rarely have actual villainess love rivals as the plot driver. You're more likely to have to MC face direct threats from the main story's plot villian/villianess, with the bachelor's insecurities/mysteries driving the chosen romance route.

I think the villainess love rival is a specific webnovel trope, invented by writers who grew up reading this brand of old-school shoujo manga/love dramas and decided to combine it with a very specific setting of Baroque-noble-world otome games.

@Sallad4ever Japanese villainess characters, as I noticed, have curly/wavy blonde or silver hair for modern ones. I'm surprised that "villainess' drills" is an old trope.

@Kiraidesu I can't choose between the two of them. Let them be goddesses! Let me read the new volumes!! Let me read the ending!!!

Gosh I can't express how much I adore Glass Mask. I really want to know the ending, but it's been YEARS since I last bought the latest translated volume of Glass Mask manga in my country (deluxe version volume 26!).

I'm dying to see both Ayumi's and Maya's take on Crimson Goddess. What frustates me is the fact that this manga is still running but I have no access to it. How long I need to wait!?
