I physically reacted to that cliffhanger in a way that I've never done. Like, I started to pump my arms in frustration and started squirming. This isn't a masterpiece or anything, yet it go such a strong reaction out of me. What is this, magic?
Good start to the story, btw. Bit bland, but I like our MC and we got a quick, albeit rough, building of the world they live in so we can get right into the meat of the story. Some more world building would still be nice a bit later, but they certainly didn't drag it out, albeit at the cost of some holes here and there. Like, what's that about his island? When was it established that she was on an island? And while it'll likely be answered later, why is he being ostracized?
On a final note,
Anon-sama? For real?! I mean, at least it'll be that much easier to forget him, and based on how she responded to her maid then she has already long since forgotten about him. Probably helps that she was just saved by another man that, despite only just meeting her, cares about her more than the First Prince likely ever did. Oh, and he's also a prince to boot. Fancy that!
@Kamikoto Ah, "territory" makes a whole lot more sense than "island." Thanks for that explanation.
