Oh awesome, nice to see another chapter of this.

I believe Asshole Prince was doing some magic fuckery alongside the Saintess earlier, so I assume that's what this weird shadow entity is - meaning it likely is supposed to do what Silvie fears - namely, turn her into the game's final boss (so Saintess can kill her and claim her happy ending).

I'm curious how she'll defeat it, though. But I do think that a great first step is understanding she doesn't have to do everything alone.
Making friends and comrades are a huge part of rewriting and deciding the direction of any life, and just because she's determined to live her way, doesn't mean she can't share that life with others.

To be fair, all they saw was their super powerful friend suddenly freeze up and start shouting about something only she could see; even if they're consciously aware of the existence of mental attacks, in the heat of the moment, it'd just look like she's having a panic attack. Especially since she wasn't articulating herself very well at the time.

But once they were all able to sit down and properly discuss everything and Sylvie was able to articulate exactly why she reacted the way they did, and the guild master provided extra context, they were able to accept that she really did see and experience something they couldn't.

also not for nothing but that other person chose an incredibly inflammatory way of phrasing the sentiment expressed by the characters in the story, which further distorts what actually occurred between last chapter and this one.

Considering the past chapters, my bets are that idiot prince got manipulated to doing something very stupid by a possessed Katia. Probably this whole threat of large scale monster attack from the now sealed dungeon.

Makes me think that the dungeon those two went to probably had some kind of demon sealed, seal somehow got broken and the demon possessed Katia. And probably is targeting Sylvie since she so strong now and that hidden potential of hers as the final boss. And the whole mental attack probably was some way to weaken Sylvie’s mental defenses and take over her body. Probably…
