Maki's motivation for doing sex work is unclear, but it's hard to feel good about her having sex with a teacher, paid or not. I wonder how their relationship started. Did he put her onto it, or did she come onto him? Is it part of being on a remote island without much opportunities to make money?

It's worse that she's actively working with him to get the art teacher fired. Is her beef with the art teacher just that she's pushing the art club to try hard? Quit the club, then. I can already see the picture the author is drawing here, this is a set up for the female teacher to get away with her wrong doings as if she wasn't grooming the kid, by shoving into the story an even bigger scumbag in the form of a male teacher that pays one of his students for sex, while he schemes on the side for ways to get laid with the bad female teacher

That way once the scumbag teacher inevitably assaults the scumbag female teacher, and he is also caught fucking his students, the female teacher gets the perfect cover to distract everyone from her own bad behavior and slide away from trouble while the other guy sponges all the flack

And yes Maki is whoring herself, but it is still the adult that is at fault here, so i wont slut shame her, plus she is right, so far all the adults shown have been scumbags, even Kuroki who suspects that his coworkers are up to no good, up is not really doing anything about it, instead trying to pass it as if it were the student's responsibility to not fall astray

Kuroki doesn't suspect Okuda, though. He's got a bias against Sakisaka for her appearance, even though he has no evidence that she's doing anything improper (She is though, he's not wrong.) Meanwhile Okuda is his staff/discipline buddy but is the actual criminal teacher Kuroki fears. The double standard is infuriating. Is Kuroki the kind of creep who victim blames women while excusing the men?

I agree that Art teach should lose her job. I'm thinking about best case scenario. I really hope Gin and the Art Teacher don't get together while he's a student, but I'd be ok with it if they reconnect as adults. Perhaps She gets fired (Justifiable) or leaves the island for her art, and Gin ends up going to art school and getting his career started. Then they both meet again as successful adults? (Who am I kidding, successful artists are rare. That's the wish fulfillment ending lol).
