About page 14, I think the translation you went with is good! I just hope to offer a more accurate sentence analysis.

すごい /sugoi/ (and its colloquial form すげえ /sugee/) can also mean 'very', 'awfully'. And なんか /nanka/ at the start of a sentence can add a nuance of general uncertainty. E.g. なんか嫌な予感がする /nanka iya na yokan ga suru/ ("I have a bad feeling about this"), なんか恥ずかしいな /nanka hazukashii na/ ("I feel kind of embarrassed"). Moreover, 見られる /mirareru/ is both the passive and the potential form of 見る, so it can mean "is seen" or "can see" depending on context.

So I would analyze the sentence なんかすげえ見られる as なんか "kind of" + すげえ "awfully" + 見られる "are seen"/"can see", which in this context would come together to mean something like "somehow, [we] stick out like crazy". But fortunately, "they're all looking at us" gets across the same meaning!
