Aoi got a face upgrade! Well, it was technically there already with her eyelid fix, but yes, "exercising" them is nice to see.

I have to imagine the helmet was utilitarian for her antenna. At first I thought it was to hide her identity, but since she took it off at the end, that's obviously a nonstarter (and...not sure who she'd be hiding from at an underground retro gaming tournament anyway, so.)
The sound effects during the tourney are what confirmed it for me, though.

But, thank you for your continued work on this series. I'm very much looking forward to Real Aoi meeting her sexdroid version. No clue how that's going to go, but as long as Aoi(droid) is happy and okay at the end of this, I'll be satisfied.

kills me every time that Ami's antennas have a natural kill response for when she's getting cooked in fighting games lmao

speaking of fighting games, I know the panels we've seen of Final Spire before look like KOF but the key art used for it this chapter feels a bit like one of the older pieces of SF2 Key Art, makes me wonder if it'll slowly become more and more of a general Fighting Game amalgamation as the story continues lol

It really is the little details and nods to contemporary humor culture that continue to sell this series for me. (y'know, on top of the everthing else.)

My personal headcanon is that the game is, with this being "the future" and all, just all of the "fighting games of yore" shoved into one cartridge/future equivalent, and that's why it sorta just looks like...well, all of them.

It's literally like an omni-emulator, and so you can fight Capcom against SSB against MK against Marvel against TMNT and so on.
