I always find Nikujaga's (and to a related extent curry's) popularity as Japanese dishes kinda funny. It reminds me of how people so strongly associate pizza with New York, because it's so far removed from teh source recipe as to be a totally different thing.

@Doopington Now he will have to cook for her just whenever she feels like it, but get nothing out of it.

never ceases to make me hungry for hearty japanese dishes. nothing quite nails that sweet-savory ratio like it.

Really enjoying this one and really appreciate the notes that go over the dishes at the end

I usually do the cooking in relationships, but I'm jealous of Serizawa's knowledge and adaptability. In my extended family, food is a way of showing love. Definitely husband material.

On a related note, wondering if the brother or Serizawa is the better cook.

lol be fun if this got a live action since 'foodie dramas'/manga get adapted recently like grilling together tho idk how recent this is
@FredFriendly @Hollow7F @miyako19 @dokidoki
I feel the same way. Dude's nice and all but Harukawa has food on the mind, not love (at least right now anyway.)

"something something the way to a (wo)man's heart is their stomach", he'd have the best chance if he dedicated himself to being a pro chef/being a better cook than her brother

although i guess it's pretty common but i can imagine some ppl hesitating dating coworkers let alone marrying them
@miyako19 i know theres nothing wrong with him, i just dont like him for some reason...maybe coz i was exposed to the lil brother first. meh, who knows
I don't mind him but it'd be nice if he was ok with just being friends/enjoy watching her eating in a non voyeuristic way versus having expectations or so (although even tho this hasn't been updated in a while there IS a romance tag, tho it'd be hilariously messed if he was passed over for someone else) tho the "You shouldn't let a guy over your apartment so easily" I get the risk but that'd almost seem condescending (although as a coworker unless you're drunk or a scumbag that'd be a bad idea to try anything sleazy since she could just get a kitchen knife to stab you or report you to the company the next day and ruin your career) tho i would hope their culture /society would be less uptight to where you can invite someone over that's the opposite gender to hangout/share a meal together without there being any underlying intentions/implications

although i think it'd be better focusing on the food unless it was more 'mutual' like grilling together
