Comments above make me a little nervous, as I'm 30 chapters in and enjoying this a lot more than I expected.
Of note: excellent art, complex characters & interesting backstory (without heavy exposition or useless detail embroidery), and a nice, organic story flow. I haven't yet had the sense of events tumbling from one contrived crisis to the next, and while the narrative focus keeps shifting, its progress never seems forced or arbitrary. So far, it seems a promising story unusually well told.
I do wish the MC were a bit less arrogant & condescending. And I wish 1000x more that the writing didn't so often seem to validate his narcissism. Foreshadowing's a little heavy-handed, too. But those are my only complaints so far. Among the more pleasant surprises in recent memory.
