I can't speak from experience since I don't really desire a partner (the only real reason would be tax purposes, but two friends can get just as easily married). But I'm pretty sure you've got to be at least be slightly active even if you're the one who wants to get confesses to.

I don't remember Peach wording out her lines like that in the novel.
She was basically said that she's gonna stop acting so negative on a happy event Youshin managed to get into and she is full 100% supporting 'cause he's a really dear friend of the group.

The novel game chat sections were given a lot more room to cook than they're getting here, so things are getting simplified and very much rushed.

I don't find that surprising at all. He's a romcom MC. Telling her how much she likes her means a confession, and that doesn't happen until the fat lady sings.

he didn't because their whole dating thing is a dare: "Confess to that quiet guy and date him for 1 month". Not because of the MC "curse".

Baron is married, it's Peach I'm curious about. By the narrative laws she should of had a crush on the MC or know him and his girlfriend in real life. Wonder which one it is.

She does not know him IRL (or her at all, at this point) but she has had an enormous crush on him for several years, as he was the first even slightly older person to take her seriously as a person, first looking after her when she entered the game and then even moreso as an equal once she gained experience. She avoided confessing to him all this time because she was afraid being just two years younger (and, especially, a middle-schooler) would lead him to not take her feelings seriously. Her hope was that his charms would stay hidden long enough for her to get to high school where she'd finally shoot her shot. Her negative reaction to the batsu game came in part from her genuine concern he would be hurt, but also in no small part from her panic that she'd be left behind for good.
