They're still halfway through the batsu game and they're practically fucking in the kitchen in front of her family.

She gonna get knocked up before they even get a chance to confess for real.

she won't

but still

It's crazy that the MC is still under the impression that she's dating him just because she lost a bet. Meanwhile, everyone around them, including the FeMC, is screaming at them to get married and have kids right now.
We've seen that he highly suspects things are real, but there's still that nagging bit of doubt that can't be cleared up yet.

Still...man.

I don't think it was "most compatible with," and leaned more towards "date the loner kid in the class who's probs the most harmless,"

Which in and of itself doesn't seem too bad to me. But I have also seen the trope in other manga and such come up where it is still seen as an insult and bad act. But probs a cultural aspect to it.
We do eventually discover that her friends did a helluva lotta research to find the one guy who'd fit her like a glove. There was still some doubt because every other option had at least some kind of worrisome reputation built up through interactions with others but this cat had none. They couldn't be sure he'd be "harmless", but they were sure his judgement would be the least impaired by the situation.

Quite an over the top master to even tell him how to stand when cutting a carrot. It was already a bit much to have to place the vegetable on the table to use the peeler.
Actually, she is entirely correct about how to handle the peeler. Plus, that way you're putting all the force into the vegetable, instead of into your arm holding the vegetable, which has to push back, which is asking for all kinds of trouble, on top of being way more exhausting. Personally, I don't peel my carrots and other root vegetables, though, since the skin is where most of the nutrients are.

How bad are the guys in their school if "total loner who speaks to no one ever and has not interacted with anyone since start of year" has the least red flags???

Things are so bad that basketball senpai was one of the last options cut.

Also things are so bad that one of the friends is dating her adult stepbrother rather than a classmate.

This explains so so much about their world... and really justifies every quirk I had shrugged off as manga gotta manga- her avoidance of males, friend's stepbrother dating, dad getting super ripped, and his social aversion. Thanks.

It was framed as a punishment game, with Yozhin chosen precisely because he was seen as an outcast, and thus going out with him could be a punishment in itself. That wasn't Nanamis' friends actual goal, and yes, Yozhin just happened to overhear it, but from Nanami's point of view at the time, that was absolutely the case.
It was a punishment because they were getting Nanami to do something that she was uncomfortable with, but the actual thing they wanted to get her to do was something they thought would be good for her because she was a) constantly having guys confessing to her while upsetting her and b) didn't have any experience with men and c) were worried that something would happen to her. They picked him because he's the quietest boy in the class, like verbatim that's why.
I think the initial plan was for Nanami to date Yoshin for one month and then break up with him. They assumed he would think he was lucky to be able to date Nanami for one month, and the breakup would've been just due to incompatibility. The concept of the dare would stay hidden.
Breaking up with him wasn't part of the plan, she just had to date him for one month. They say "if you break up" not "when you break up"

It is cute but it is also kinda shocking how their families are present for this high-school relationship that didn't even start too long ago. They have been dating for a little time now but their families are acting like inlaws lol

I had to go to Urgent care on Friday because I stupidly got my finger caught in a vegetable slicer. I had it standing upright against the wall inside a cupboard but forgot about it as I was putting pans away. Sliced through my nail as if I was trying to peel my nail off. 20/10 do NOT recommend. The Doc even said that if my nails weren't so thick I probably would have sliced through to bone instead of it deflecting upwards

So yeah, anyway, be careful with sharp objects in the kitchen folks.

It's surreal that you're arguing with this against "That wasn't Nanamis' friends actual goal".

They picked him because he's the quietest boy in the class, like verbatim that's why.
Yup. That is, an outcast whom she'd otherwise never even look at (punishment game).

I suppose he could keep that in mind when he turns 80. Before that, he ought to have more than enough strength to push back. What you are talking about is theoretical trouble. Like someone else already said, the whole idea of a peeler is to be safe and trouble free, unlike a knife, especially a high quality giant ass knife like certain someone else in the chapter was using, while holding her vegetable in her hand.

What happened in this chapter was Nanami getting a bit overly eager in teaching Youshin stuff, just because she enjoyed doing it. But then again, if that really was the first time Youshin had used a peeler, despite being high school age already, he deserved such treatment.
