The main complaint I have with all yuri manga is that instead of writing drama they just make everyone cheat and sleep around. I really hope this doesn't become like that because the constant "I'm not good enough" stuff is dragging it down enough

Oh really? I’m actually really enjoying that aspect of this title (the self confidence issue, not the prospect of cheating haha)! 😭

It’s possible I just have a lot of empathy for our FL because I have low self esteem, but I’m enjoying the main character’s struggle in regards to her career. I appreciate seeing our FL struggle with her feelings of inadequacy against her romantic feelings. I don’t feel like this issue gets presented in media enough, since when it does, it is through a patriarchal lens of a man feeling inadequate against his woman partner. So I’m appreciating this as a unique focus. I’m hoping this new character will be used to further develop on this friction rather than being a contrived triangle.

I hope this one is not gonna follow the ntr route. There’s so many ntr mangas out there. It’s time for a different plot line. Why are those even popular?..
Anyway, ranting aside, Kanna should really pick up the slack there. She literally takes no initiative, even in her relationship with Sakuragawa and wonders why she’s not good enough. It’s like you know waiting for everyone to take a cookie and then wonder why the plate is empty. I get that passivity may not be so easy to change after you’ve spent your entire life adrift on the waves of big tides, but I think Kanna has a brilliant example in front of her to learn from.

Hope in the next chapters to come we’ll see some nuanced sides of Sakuragawa. So far she feels like a mostly flawless person who can work 24/7 no rest needed (when I read manga with such characters, it makes me feel like the most week-willed and lazy person ever). With her ex (?) now entering the scene, she’s bound to show us some cracks in her perfectness.

For those who are going to jump at me with “she’s too obsessed, letting Kanna use her”, I get it. But imo this aspect hasn’t been givenenough attention yet.

I don't think saying we're starting the serialization off with drama would be accurate, but at the very least, it's some good old communication issue.
Granted, they have this weird "temporary relationship" thingy going on, so she can't exactly complain about (potentially, although I kinda doubt it) getting cheated on...

I really don't know why are people jumping straight to cheating. It's just a picture with another woman. It could've been literally anything but Kanna's lack of self-esteem and her anxieties about her relationship with Sakuragawa are the reason why she jumped to that conclusion.

This will cause a misunderstanding for sure but I don't think there's anything to suggest that Sakuragawa is cheating on her partner with Kanna

I doubt that they are both currently together. The hair in the photo was longer and it was hidden, not in the way that a current partner’s photo would be but one that was from a previous relationship that you were still not over.

And I love Sakuragawa almost toying with Kanna. Kanna could probably get anything she wanted if she asked, but she doesn’t ACTUALLY know what she wants. And Sakuragawa is patient enough to wait, and more than happy with the time she spends with Kanna. I mean, if Sakuragawa was cheating on her girlfriend, she’s not exactly doing anything that could actually count. I mean, you could barely even call it emotional infidelity!

And SO glad that this is being serialised! The style of this relationship benefits a long drawn out tease!
