Is that a little “Sincerely” typo I spy in the translator’s notes?
Fixed it now, thanks for noticing~
When I first saw that panel I already knew what I had to do, it was my dutyAnd oh my god the “Airplanes” song cracked me up, remember a few years ago when it’s a really big meme with an even bigger crackship?
It was unexpected, but it makes a lot of sense, and I do like how they are both taking a stance on what they want instead of just going along with whateverBut still, seriously, massive thanks for the chapter! I remember back then when I read this chapter on my local website in Chinese, we’re all going crazy over it! I mean, this reason to not get married is so out-of-the-blue, but it just made so much sense when we rethink their entire journey together.
To be fair, I do also see marriage as only a social construct, so I was never too interested in it if not for the "aesthetic" of it, after all, all the people in my life never did get married for ages and still had families/children of their own, so that probably also shaped my view of itIt’s because they’re bind by love and life, not a marriage contract or a master-servant program!
When I think about it, maybe that’s hidden meaning of this entire tale. Marriage technically doesn’t have anything to do with “love”. It’s just a social construct backed by law and order, while true love lies in a spiritual place. Yes, true and genuine love is so rare to come by, but if it is like Akane and Nadeshiko, the old contracts are nothing but shackles that aren’t necessary.
When they reach a consensus like that, their bonds of the soul seems just so much brighter and stronger.
We will hope it goes out with a bangerSo see you later! I shall eagerly await for the final chapter of their undying love! (And Akane finally actively serving Nadeshiko with her fingers for once 😜)
