I genuinely don't know what they author is doing with Seira. She's obviously portrayed as gay with a crush on big sis, who has no apparent interest on her or anyone else, and being persued by someone she has no interest in romantically.

Is she just going to end up with him because?

I feel like they're more trying to play it as a super heavy fangirl type crush idk, it's kinda a weird mix when they're also teasing her and Sawai

I thought the main couple already confessed? But Sawai... the author really just needs to cut that cord. For God's sake let there be rejection for once. She's either completely not interested in him, not ready for a romantic relationship (like as in even feeling those feelings), or realistically both. Even more realistically she could actually be a lesbian and have no interest in men as romantic partners. Regardless someone in her position shouldn't be forced into a relationship with a sad pathetic guy that comes off as a teen just desperate to be in a relationship period with a cute girl. Like this is fiction but I still feel some ick from the whole thing. It's a weird message to give to readers to to. If someone is actively leaving you on read & only responding with reactions (not even stickers) then they are clearly uncomfortable and uninterested. And he's been pushy the whole time when she's been pretty clearly against his advances (just not so against them that she's given a hard no and blocked him, but that's also like not permission 😭). I mean heck. He could back off and all of a sudden when given that space she finds she has some feelings for him or something. That'd be better than this.

The whole thing with Sawai is 100% not what I signed up for when I began reading this and it's genuinely beginning to make me wish I wasn't already invested in the story. What's currently happening between the main couple is already confusing and a little frustrating, we really don't need this subplot to drag it down further. It's not even about being a yuri fan at this point, even if there was no hint of Seira being interested in women this would be wrong.

the author also seems to want to drag Asahi through weird 'avoidance play'-type stuff and already wrote in that godawful "don't confess to me, I wanna do it first--but only after my entrance exams" which, I guess thankfully?, was shot down.
the main pair plot isn't really any better, essentially, and I get the impression they're in slightly too disparate a place in their respective lives to make a healthy relationship work. He's too straight-laced and is still a minor; she's way more extroverted, and importantly can go get drunk and apparently be hit on by a problematic dude with her friends around and it's treated like it's no big deal or anything to maybe be concerned about.
Maybe the author's still working it all out, but the dynamic between them feels uneven from a narrative sense, but also energy-wise. He'd just be dragged around by her being way more outgoing, and it's not like they can do the same "age appropriate activities" for dates because he can't drink or go out to bars and whatnot (maybe he can, I'm not privy to how establishments like that work in Japan), and he's so comparatively insular that I can't help but imagine he'd just drag her down over time.

Just feels like it's a pairing that might sound good on paper, but the moment it actually happens would look unnatural. Maybe it'll change, or maybe I've missed details and need to re-read, but.



I agree about Sawai, though. Dude needs to be cut off and rejected. I don't care if it turns out she's gay or not; honestly, she doesn't have to be to simply not be interested in someone, much less someone like him. Realistically that specific pairing would take over 100 focused chapters of development to make it at all reasonable, and even that feels like a stretch, and if that happens this manga will have gone on for entirely too long to make it worthwhile, anyway.
