It's a oneshot for which the mangaka decided to add a second part in march (six months after the first part). So yes, all intentional. That's just how oneshots go.

Mangaka just started serialization on another series in March, so sounds unlikely.

Also, now that this got serialized, I really hope it doesn't go the housewife end and she actually becomes a writer or something because the way her character is written it seems like she suffers a lot due to people encasing her in their own preconceived notions of what an attractive girl like her should behave.
