Building off of personal assumption, Italian food usually consists of more oils within dishes which would cause the noodles to become slippery and harder to eat with chopsticks, especially if made incorrectly. But thats my personal unprofessional opinion.

This could've work as introduction or ch1, feels like it's a promotional chapter in another magazine hehehe, you know what I mean? but still, very important bonus into the psyche of both. Thank you!

I did that too at my friend's house! They were asian, and I asked for chopsticks, and they flipped their s***. They stared at me the whole time like I was a freak!

Iirc Forks originated with mongols brought westward through the silk road and spaghetti originated from chinese noodles so italian spaghetti culture is all a bastardization of eastern noodle culture.

I don't know about forks, but spaghetti originated from làgana, a greek-latin dish that dates back to more than 2000 years ago, way before a silk road existed, so I doubt they were imported from China.

The spaghetti thing is only a problem for people with gas stoves, and I've never had that problem either. Your water should already be boiling, so just lower the flame until all the noodles are soft enough to soak in the pot first.

I feel like breaking the spaghetti is a terribly inefficient way of doing this.. you get all those annoying bits that you have to pick up individually.

beyhond the heresy of breaking spaghetti (burn the witch!), the really annoying thing is how proud she is of that, like she discovered the secret of life or something! Unless you work in a professional kitchen, your pot will always be lower than spaghetti: usually you put them in and after a couple of seconds, when they begin to soften, you push them under. Or you could avoid the problem completely, and use fusilli or penne... also, it has been scientifically proven that spaghetti doesn't brake in halves, but shatter in a number of fragments

I mean, yeah. You don't even really need to wait; the noodles get soft at the bottom pretty much immediately so you can just push them in. I'm a shitty cook, but breaking spaghetti is so stupid and pointless on many levels ... gotta say though, actually managing to burn them is on a whole other level of skill ^^;
