Do you think a mangaka has less common sense than a catholic priest or politician? This whole time, you've been judging them by the art style and not by the setting. The likelihood that our TS protags are in highschool is much higher than them being any younger--and by Japanese law, you're able to become independent and/or married younger, especially with the approval of a living family member or guardian.


Please do the math... Before I point out that these characters are fictional and part of a setting only ambigiously placed in some modern Japan setting, throwing any reliable notions of consent laws out the window the moment you remember out protags are fucking Succubi.

not only do I not care about the age-gap nor any fake morality shit bc its cartoons, but neither of things change the fake that sensei's in a position of power over his student that has a crush on him, that student considered underage canonical, and the that senseis is canonically a legal adult by comparison.
Akira and her mother being a different species with possible different lifespans have no bearing on my comment.

So the Dense Protagonist dialogue in literally every situation where a male character in a similar setting has to make a decision and is being flatly told to their face by the circumstances what the correct choice is, but they flounder around like a idiot who has to choose between two different versions of the same choice?
You mean the dialogue that you're going to see in this entire artistic medium?
You mean the same dialogue you see in the vast majority of even western male protagonist self-inserts, because being a dumb macho man who can't decide between women and beer carries the same weight as being a dumb isekai protag who can't choose between women and beer?
You mean the same dialogue that has been repeated by the most popular protagonists of the last three living generations of content?
