She was shocked at how it was handles and didn't know how to explain why watching it hurt. Because she should have been happy thst her crush wasnt interested in someone else. but that happiness would ofc turn to panic when they start bad talking ALL romance.

I found pretty puzzling that it is common in Japan that your peers pressure you into accepting someone's feelings just because the other party has feelings for you. Like, if I don't like the other person nor do I know the first thing about them, why would I respond to their feelings in kind?

I’ve always had this problem with the Japanese romanticizing these types of one-sided confessions. Like yeah confessions are typically one-sided but what I mean is the scenario where one party that is not really acquainted with the other party decides its a good idea to confess. It’s one-sided because the one confessing only cares about getting their feelings conveyed and responded and does care about how to other party feels about it. Its different between one friend confessing to their friend because there’s established trust and comfort between both parties. Even if the other person isn’t romantically interested, it’s okay because they are friends. Heck even putting an effort to get to know the other person before confessing is better because you let the other person know “I’m interested”. They have time to mentally prepare to for a potential confession. Not like this mf that just likes her because Segawa became pretty and probably was one of the kids her found her weird like all the others.
