As stated in the description

By preventing Marie's interference early on, the Otome Game story continues as intended.

What people don’t like about this series is that it also prevented Angie×Livia from ever happening. But remember, that Angie×Livia only happens because they have a common enemy to unite against, forcing them to grow as individuals, with Leon actively helping them out. Since that common enemy is no longer a factor and Leon barely interacts with any of them, their growth is also prevented.

Marie, unsuccessful in robbing Angie of her fiancé, Livia of her saintess, and the others of their respective fiancés, causes the Otome characters to inevitably cross paths, not as victims of Marie, but as love rivals. These love rivals exist in a society of female supremacy oppresses the lower class. Without the help and advice from Leon, there will be no Deus Ex Luxion for the Otome characters.

To be honest, I too felt conflicted about this series at first. However, it also forced me to recognize each of their flaws. Knowing who they were in the main series, it reminds me of who and what they're supposed to be in the Otome Game. All things considered, it makes their characters much deeper.

I also realize why this story is darker than the main series. It's because our favorite Otome Game characters now have to fight against each other for a really stupid reason in the most extreme way. But this is also how the story is supposed to go in the Otome Game.

That aside, I also love the chemistry between Leon and Marie. I liked their dynamic in the main series, but I love their dynamic in this story. Mainly because Marie is being forced to confront her biggest flaw in obtaining happiness, and without any real and meaningful victory since her high school life in Japan, she’s also being forced to grow as a person. Case in point, she absolutely detests gambling because all bets she has taken have never paid off.

Leon, without the mental safe haven of Livia and the counsel of Angie, now has to rely on himself and those around him who are not so close to him. If he closes himself off to anyone now, especially to Marie, he'll become the man he used to be.

And Luxion is now also acting differently because now that there are two Old Humanities of the opposite sex, they are motivated to make the ship sail.

With all that being said, i actually looks forward on how this series will go, and will be waiting for the scanlation.
Don't forget about Saintess possession if Marie doesn't interfere it. That's become huge main plot in the future for this route
