oh no. leon isn't that much of a tsundere onii-chan. he is legit traumatized by his sister to the point he unintentionally takes it out on his current little sister. people sometimes questioned why he is so hard on his little sister meanwhile the older one who planted a bomb on him is much worst.

leon does love his family though. which is why he won't abandon them and fight for them.

Actually all his siters are legitimately awful, his biological mother is the only half decent woman in his family

It carries the idea of the series better, and them being relatively unimportant in the grand scheme of things makes their struggles more interesting. The world doesn't revolve around Leon and Marie. It probably helps that the author wrote a lot of the world building already instead of doing it on the fly, which seems to be the case for the main series.
