Marie and Leon's chemistry is really great, they definitely pair well and it seems the whole class has picked up on it except Leon lol! Seems Leon ironically still dotes on her sister like in their past lives with the dress he bought for her. They give me the vibes of being a menace duo in the future like Shiro / Sora in NGNL lol.

You know, people keep saying Leon and Marie have better chemistry, but I'm not actually sure that's the whole story. Like, yeah, they're peas in a pod in terms of kinda shitty personalities (affectionate). But I personally thing that Leon's dynamic with Angelica and Olivia are also very good because they form a very nice balance of pure-rational-pragmatic and loving-passionate-troll.

The reason the chemistry in the Marie route is so much better than in the main route, in my opinion, is because the biggest poison in the main story is communication issues. Every problem the main thruple deal with is rooted in them not vocalizing their feelings to each other or keeping secrets from each other.
Because main conceit of this what-if is "what if the two otherworlders exchanged notes and just talked", which is the exact opposite of that, they're able to banter with full sincerity and while knowing everything there is to know about each other. It refreshingly cuts through the bullshit, and that is why we have good chemistry.

. Just thinking it, similar with author of SAO that start again to write story of Kirito and Asuna on Aincrad Arc only and more deep about it on Progressive. Probably the difference of both series is Anoseka is spin off being realized because fans really like that route, cmiiw.
