It does make me wonder what karin's dad is actually planning, you know, Because he's the evil official who holds the real power in the palace, but the Emperor is a kid, with zero political allies with everyone who has a shot at the throne aiming to have him assassinated.

So I do kind of wonder, will he turn out to, plottwist, be a righteous official who is just keeping the palace in balance until the emperor can take his rightful place and that's why he's known to be so ruthless, because he's actively keeping all three empresses and their respective factions in check. Or is he exactly who he appears to be and his end goal is a puppet emperor kept in check with help from his daughter.
