The difference is that in OPM they know how to write the story so it fits the moment Saitama comes and beats the bad guy in one punch.

Here MC immediately knew how bad the badge system was going to become and decided to DO NOTHING and wait for things to escalate.

Stories with OP protagonists trying to live a slow life but sh#t still happening can be done well. My Dad is Too Strong and Banished from the Hero's Party are two good examples.

What's piss me off here is the MC watching injustice on plaint sight and for the sake of his dream of "be normal" DO NOTHING to stop it.

It's almost like making a story with an OP main character was usually a terrible ide-oh, wait
