Contrary to many others, I'm not against Ashito getting wrecked like this. Sure, it can be frustrating for the readers to have him take L's after L's. However, I know that this is where I need to bear with it.

The next one is about Demian's flash back. Again, it can be annoying to read a flashback from a character that not many of us care about, even more so for an overpowered antagonist like Demian. But again, I'd argue that without a flashback, Demian would be an empty husk of OP character that "somehow" plays like prime Messi + R9.

The whole premise of this manga, or rather Fukuda as a coach, is that he wants to make a counter-argument against European football academy that great football can be produced in a healthier environment where football isn't necessarily the only thing in a youth football's life. That football can be enjoyable and not treated as "work" where often it's a matter of life and death.

And we are seeing this now between Esperion and Barca. Two contrasting academy philosophy with similar game style.

I still believe Esperion would lose, maybe for a bit more than 3. However, there will be a consolation goal to indicate that Esperion is not far from Barca. It would likely to be the last and well-crafted goal, composed by Fukuda and executed by almost everyone on the team.

So yeah, let's bear the L's for now. 😭

Chapters like this make me miss when I was binging the series. I don't mind what's happening with Ashito on a conceptual level, in fact I welcome it, but seeing his psyche break week after week gets to be tiring. I feel that if everyone (myself included) here read the past 10ish chapters in one go as opposed to week by week, their complaints would be severely diminished.

The exact same thing is happening with Hajime no Ippo, so I know that it would also hold true here.

Apologies, the early release of the magazine due to the holiday got me messing up dates. The next chapter releases on November 18th, not on the 11th.

It makes me wonder how long some people in this comment section have actually followed the manga for. Like if people can't handle Ashito's weak mentality now, let me warn you, it's gonna be a long while yet before things change. This has been the basic way of developing Ashito's character for the entirety of the manga and we've always had to endure the long downs to get the exciting ups. I still don't think this is even Ashito's lowest point yet, and unlike say the red card against Funabashi, it certainly wasn't that unexpected this time. On the contrary I'd say it was pretty much set in stone since the 1st half ended.

oh is that the image of that Barca CEO that started to sell out La Masia kids and buy expensive players, only to have it not working out at the end? The one that came after Laporta?

Agreed. I don't see how this is any different from the Aomori Seiran match. Hell, I'd say it improves on a lot of things in that match (e.g. less "supernatural" elements like Aoi and Ren having conversations through their Eagle Eye and stuff...).

I dont even think they gonna lose that bad. Fukuda’s gonna cook something and then Kuri Akutsu Aoi will have their windows for their own character arc(it has to be with the premise of the whole match at his mums funeral) then they will prolly create a close chance, barca barely scoring and Esperion finish it with a nice team goal for 3-2.
