Again, where is my homie Kiriki? I think during the Ganon match, it was stated that he was subbed out for Otomo/Kuroda? I’m going to assume that Fukuda is swapping out the main starters to give the first years more exposure against tougher opponents. He definitely seems to be doing it on purpose, and isn’t surprised by the outcomes. Also, good to see Aoi actually notice something wrong with Akutsu.

Aoi will be crucial here, not because he can defend, but because he is now the only person who can reach Akutsu in this weird state. I assume he will wrench it out of him.

Thanks for the chapter!

Sooo, Akutsu is being the exact opposite of himself. And the rest of the senior players who were supposedly meant to be teaching and supporting the first years turn on them the moment there is a bad result. Fukuda is up to something, probably the reason Akutsu isn't having an aneurysm out of pure rage right now.

I think this is testing their mental strength, and Fukuda is prioritizing something else over winning. Who’s to say what is on that man’s mind though? Certainly not me, lmao!

I have to admit, I'm not on the "Ashito is vital to the team" train, I do think he is a really good player with a lot of potential, and Fukuda has a shitton of fun playing him in every match he gets to, but I wouldn't go to the extent of calling him vital. I think Fukuda just wants to show how far behind the others first years are compared to Ashito, our boi has been able to keep up with Esperion's best line up, while almost effortlessly adapting to the 5 lines strategy in a single match, while the others can't even keep up with Esperion's reserve players. Even with Tripone out of the equation, they weren't able to keep their defense. I'm excited to see what Fukuda has in mind in order to fix the gap once again , Probably just kicking everyone's asses back to team B if they don't improve XDDD (you know the usual Fuck-uda)
Could you guys please add a Fuck at the end of every line of dialog Akutsu has? Is so weird seeing that kid talking nicely to everyone. Obviously whatever was in that letter has affected him deeply, In my opinion, is a family-related issue is the only thing I can think about that would cut through that thick skin of his.

I always had the feeling Akutsu was a victim of child abuse, and that football is truly a matter of life and death for him. Guess we'll soon see if something like that happened in his life.

Youth teams main purpose isn't to win, it's to make the young players grow, that's exactly what Fukuda is aiming for. Baba is an asshole, did he already forgot that it's when he was subbed out for Otome that the pace of the team changed for the better. Blaming it on the youth is so easy.
However I truly wonder if Asari will be able to make it, he's the one who seems to have the less skills in the promoted 1st years, struggling a lot.
