Hm? It's a similar situation that Sakuraba went through minus the larger ego...and the fact that Ao is dumber lol.

Good luck Ao. At least he sticks with his beliefs.

I puzzled to understand what he was wrong but because we are used to thinking that the mc is always wrong, but in fact his teammates are also just kids.

I'm reminded of the part in Giant Killing wherein Tatsumi is trying to teach Natsuki about being a forward. Natsuki didn't understand if he was supposed to be a team player who would pass off to someone with a better chance to score, or a selfish forward who only had eyes for goal. In the end the correct choice seemed to be option 2.

So... in this case they think Aoi should be more of a team player? Is this a youth-orientated thing or a ego thing?

@Cynic more like, the author want to take on a modern football approach. In this age, strikers also should take part in build-up attacks, and youth football does focused on it.

@cynic it is the stupid japanese value again that one must not stand out and work together with the team which is dumb as fuck. forwards should be selfish.

@Abangerz forwards should be selfish but they also need to play for the team. They need to be able to understand what to do and when. If the team had more chances to score a goal if Ashito wasn't the scorer than that was the right thing to do, in the end it's always about the team, not the player. If all the plays you do are centered on you scoring it also becomes easier for your opponent to prevent them.

Ashito has a lot of passion but man his attitude kinda of annoys me a lot . He's pretty dumb at times, I hope he can find his feet soon.

The story is gonna make Aoi eventually figure it out so it's cool I guess.

@Ulgan Agreed the option to go for should always be the best option ahead and not the one option of hoofing it up to the striker to score all the time. Aoi probably has to figure that out, or he'll never earn the trust of his teammates ever. People are getting sucked into the Blue Lock aspect which I think is flawed af.
