That first chapter was actually pretty charming. Too bad it later turns into another run-of-the-mill harem series with no fun or interesting character dynamics to play with.

Easy. You just start queueing at same time as the ones you want to snipe, and instantly dc and retry if you got something else. Then you roll a nat 20 at some point and catch them.

Same way big streamers [with lots of viewers each attempting to roll nat 20's] often ends up with viewers who snipes their way into their lobbies/teams.

ps: also helps if you have an account with a similar rating to the targets
I'm aware of people sniping but that would only work at high tiers of play where there is a smaller player pool, it wouldn't work to try and get in game with someone in like gold rank where a massive portion of the player base is unless it wasn't a particularly popular game

Thank you for the translations!

While it sucks that a relationship is off the table right now, I'm willing to give the author some slack since oni-chan seems at least aware that it was her trying to save face.

Weren't they platinums with their smurf accounts? Or do I misremember?
This feels like somewhat forbidden knowledge but with that caveat of there 5% chance of it happening with the most favorable of state!
5% feels like an overestimation. I would guess somewhere closer to 0.1% or lower~ xD

Also, I got the feeling that he would be WAY more successful being a wholesome streamer. I mean, he is just one more toxic gamer, but a wholesome gamer it's not common, and he has already a fanbase
A TRUE honest to God wholesome streamer would be a huge hit.

Cause damn have there been way too many cases of "wholesome" content creators being exposed to be horrible people behind the scenes.

At the very least he doesn't seem oblivious. His expression during his reaction to her "It's not like I like you or anything" was very much someone who could tell she was just trying to salvage her dignity. And given he's preoccupied trying to protect the image he's built for himself (on account of it being his livelihood he uses to provide for his sister), it could feasibly be a case of him patiently waiting for her to sort out her feelings until she's ready.

Add on the fact that the manga even outright calls her fanbase parasocial, and I get the feeling we might indeed get to see some actual relationship drama.

It's not like I like you or anything, okay?
Technically, it's true that you never admitted that 'your friend' likes 'this guy', but you never refuse it AT ALL when 'Oni-san' asked if she likes him, nor if she know the guy has GF or not either...

to quote Yellowman once again:
Isn't it kinda too late to fool anyone here?

You both are just fooling yourself and coping here! :smugnako:

Maybe, but I think the kayfabe and the contrasts is what really makes it interesting. In a world where it’s common for the “nice” to turn out being bad, it’s refreshing to have a “toxic” streamer that ends up being extremely kind. It makes it unique from the rest of the stuff out there. It’s also kind of like the “gap more” appeal. The contrast is the point.

a rare wholesome fans who keep their promises and not spread shit that unnecessary. if only majority of streamer fans like this we might still have many of the streamer that stop streaming around now. most of them stopped because the troll and bullying when to far

Honestly, waay to many manga's end once the MC's are together. But there is so much to explore afterwards, it makes me always a bit sad.
Big reason for Shikimori having been so big and popular was BECAUSE they were already a couple so the focus was on the relationship fluff. But yeah way too many series do dumb shit like that or some variation.

This is such a funny manga. Great romcom in modern times. The comments and trolls of course make it even more incredible. Excited to see where this goes!

Thanks for the translation!

"Well that's One small step to denial, one giant leap to that definitely fucking happening" -wise romcom person whom has read many

Having a fanbase with 100% shitposters is very accurate but a 50/50 split on males and females 🤨🤔
