Relax guys, this is just the director lashing out, trying to protect her facade that helped her endure the toxic office environment for so long. She has no other choice but to drive people away....we will see for how long

I really liked this chapter! What Chao said resonated a lot with my experience working for corporations. If you're a newbie, lecturing those who like to gossip is usually pointless, since you haven't been there long enough to earn those people's respect. All it will do is turn them against you as well. You can and should report seriously bad behavior to your supervisor or HR, but for simple shit talking and gossip there's not much to be done. So I think Chao has a good point.

That said the way Chao made her point was pretty mean. Shang Jie was trying to defend Chao; there was no need for Chao to belittle her attempt. I'm interested to see whther Chao responds to Shang Jie being upset, or just ignores it. I almost dropped this manga after Fengtang was taken advantage of by Yuxi, but I like the main storyline enough that I'm going to continue reading.
