My personal experience, but that's exactly why she's ostracized, being kind, mature and quiet, it's the main reason for most bulling. I've seen many ostracized and bullied when I was in high school, I was one of them, we had in common being the quiet kid in each of our class, with quiet hobbie and didn't like sport. That's enough reason apparently.

Best I can tell she wasn't exactly ostracized as much as ignored. She is a socially anxious introvert with an average face, so consequently, not many people are gonna bother to reach out to her, and on top of that some kids are fucking sociopaths who pointlessly mock those they see as beneath them to make themselves feel bigger. The part I find a little unrealistic is that there aren't any other socially anxious introverts with average faces in her class who might befriend her. Its like everyone in their class are models
