@iq50 idk, it’s understandable for some cases like Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu. For this case, it doesn’t really make sense, he was basically a jobless neet that spent way too much time gaming. Pretty sure most ppl in that situation would be hella happy being reincarnated as their OP game character.

I still don't follow the premise. If they defeated to bad guy in the game and the game was destroyed in the self destruction, then all the players would just wake up at home.

The goddess makes it sound like she saved him. Then also only saved him by his character, while everyone else is just saved in general.

How did the game blowing up impact the real world. It's like a ripoff of The New Gate but with nonsensical world building

Also his monk is maxed out, that tree should have been toast

This standard isekaijin moral checklist almost feels like a performance. Like a Truman's show actor going through his script. Who is performing for who, and for what though? Perhaps modern japanese are not unlike modern americo-anglos, and they too need a cheap get out of jail free card to appease their inner policeman, else they won't be able to enjoy their fiction.

Shit, makes a lot of sense when I think about it. Majority of these stories come from fanfic websites, and they live and die with the approval of the comments section. I was always under the impression that Japanese are free from living in a mental panopticon that ails the west, especially our youth. But what if they're just it having in a different flavor?
