Just something I'd thought of for some time and thought would make for an interesting story. I have seen at least one story where the main character had a harem but someone else pretty much stole them from him, with all the girls basically dismissing him as completely uninteresting now that they've found someone "better". But does the reverse ever happen? Not necessarily something that shallow in form, but something where girls that had been part of another guy's "harem" (not necessarily romantically/sexually active with him, but constantly flirting or pining for him) grow to love the main character instead?
And just to be clear, this can happen in any way. Whether the other guy dies and the girls eventually move on, or he falls for (or is revealed to be exclusively in love with) one specific person and the other girls are forced to give up, or he turns out to be a total bastard and the girls eventually come to realize his true colors and separate from him. I mean, the one story I just came across where the main character's semi-harem was stolen from him had such a bastard who thought the world revolved around him and yet didn't care about any of his new girls because the only girl he wanted was the one girl that fell for the main character.
