it's not too much longer after this chapter that i stopped reading the novel. MC casually dropping new high tech gear one after another without ever hinting at working on those before. in the very early chapters we saw him work on his guns, but soon thereafter the author simply didn't bother anymore. and it's not limited to hajime, even yue keeps pulling new spells we never saw before. at most we see her think of spell ideas, but that's the extent, really.

WNs are de facto turned to drafts once LNs are out since all authors usually iron out the story for the LN publication. So unless this bit you said was changed in the LN, which forms the basis for all adaptations for manga and anime, you’re prolly wrong somehow anyway)

Kouki had better have understood after cooling his head.

He lets his ideals run his emotions, and lets his emotions run his decisions as a result so much, anything that challenges those thoughts appears to be considered as opposition, or he wouldn't have snapped at Nagumo the way he did. And was that an order? Forgetting that you aren't the Captain of that ship, are we?

Go in guns blazing, and he will essentially be challenging an entire country's way of life, potentially an entire world. I doubt he's actually ready for those kinds of consequences, and worse, he'll drag everybody else down with him.

Having read the LN and the afterstories, seeing pre-afterstory Kouki again is such a bitter pill to swallow. He's just so goddamn hateable as a character.

Afterstory Kouki is annoying for different reasons in the afterstories, but at least he's not a self-serving asshole who jumps into every situation willy-nilly anymore.
