It's a direct follow up to what she was saying (Because he was holding their target, Aiko Right?). All they did wrong was put (it) instead of (if). So it should have been (So you could say he wouldn't have been shot if he wasn't).

She’s a naturally nice person and a teacher who wholeheartedly believes in the best for her students. She’s naive and still trying to stay strong by the teacher role she had for herself back on Earth. She wants to support these kids because that was her role and it’s more important than ever since now they are technically just emotional teenagers with no parents to regulate their growth. She failed when Nagumo “died” and doesn’t want that to happen again. But now she has failed again so she’ll probably face reality better now? Although Nagumo doing what he did shielded her from her ideals collapsing on itself, she will probably be able to think it through herself.

I wonder how many people remember that Hajime's goal is to get back to Japan and have a relatively normal life? Not live in this dumb edgelord's paradise.

The teacher wanting to get all the kids home safe is unrealistic, but not naive. It's her job in some sense. Imagine talking to the cops if she makes it back with a few kids missing. "Yeah... he got poisoned by this flying demon and we couldn't save him. No... I don't have any proof."

@Sep10trion Social studies. So while she is not a philosopher or psychiatrist, she should have some minor level of knowledge of human interactions throughout history. I'm no expert on Japanese schooling, but if it means the same as it does here in the USA, Social Studies is basically intro to history, with the focus being less on the country's own history and more on the general major historic events of the entire world (including home country if it applies). Things like world wars, major diseases like the plague, industrial revolutions, the renaissance, etc...

@esp though you have a point, but I can't help but wonder if it's really not naive of her... She was held hostage and had her life threatened, still wanted to "save" her own agressor, if that's not naivety, I don't what is.

Also, it does seems like MC new policy is "crunch, add to the heap" for every thot that comes his way... Not that the pervert dragon is any bad, mind you, but still, he /could/ try and argue a bit more.

tbh I really really hope that teacher won't show up again, but If they were trying to kill her that means she would be someone important, but still I hate her character, saying some sh*t about killing classmate because he was bad guy and at the same time letting her students fight monsters in dungeon, like c'mon, If she is so responsible etc. for them then she should go with them not hiding in random city taking care of farms. She's just stupid useless idiot.

@bvdaf Actually that's what she would prefer, if it's her choice her students would drop their weapons and stay far away from fighting but unfortunately it's not so all she can do is trying to at least somehow be there for them as their Teacher. Remember that in the early chapters while the students got taken in by the Kings promises fast she outright flipped her shit at them trying to make them fight.
Oh and the reason she doesn't fight is ... because she can't. She has a Non Combat Class (Farmer) and lacks our MC's creativity.
