Oh okay, they actually put the numbering here. Asmodeus being 32nd is correct, but the old TLer put Buer while 13th is Beleth. So I think what happened here was that the katakana in the raws was spelt ビュレット and the old TLer put it as Buer instead of Bileth or Beleth due to forgetting to check the list.

In that case, the demon summoned by Dimitri here should be Beleth as well (the silhouette fits with Chapter 2's one and the sigil is also the same one with Beleth's). In that case, Norman saying "he is one of the demons Furcas warned me about" also makes sense. The only thing that doesn't line up is the numbering, but given this manga is an adaptation, there is a chance the mangaka simply forgot, made a mistake due to not being familiar with Ars Goetia, or during typesetting someone put 12 instead of 13 (good old typo).

Yeah it's most likely just a typo here that they forgot to check. Japanese not having a character for L and H sounds can make it hard to translate but everything else points to Beleth. Just look at the letters surrounding his sigil in the previous chapter.

That's a great point too, I think I will go with that from next chapter onwards then and fix this chapter and the ranking too, to maintain accuracy ^~^

He has a sad background but he is hard to empathize with. He is mirror opposite of Norman. Norman didn't let his hardships define him in a negative way. His Faustian deal is the result of all this.

But I do enjoy the fact that author choose to make him not get all his talent from a deal with the devil. It is so tempting to just write the antagonist like “he actually can’t do anything and get all these power from cheating”.

Ok ok, id rather have that than it getting axed.

From the little I checked... LN only got 1 volume, and it’s only until summoning Agarest. It is probably more like the WN version.

Meanwhile, the manga version changes many things from the WN.
I like the manga’s changes though. Characters are more likeable. Regal is one-dimensional arrogant bully with insecurity issue in the original.

The WN also stops after this arc, but it’s a hanging “this is not the ending yet” type. Norman hides the fact he is using demons, and plan on subjugating all the demons.
Meanwhile, the manga had a “stepping into a new horizon” type that closes the series better in my opinion. The demons left Norman. He now start to learn normal magic, but the story’s original premise about an MC who use power of demons in world of magician, no longer applies.

Honestly given how he acted and the general danger he has been to everyone the principal should have not cared whether he was alive or dead and eliminated the pest anyway
